Guitarist/Vocalist Paul Presley is a prolific song writer and author (L.G. VanHuen). Inspired by The Who, David Bowie, Dire Straits and other lyrically driven artists. He found his niche by taking on serious themes under the guise of high energy tunes. Later works lean toward hidden themes under seductive melodies -- an iron fist in a velvet glove.
Bassist/Vocalist Brent Lane has collaborated with Presley since high school. Lane's ability to interpret Presley's musical intentions anchors The Moderns in a way that keeps the music unique yet familiar.
Drummer Gary Bowling is Influenced by music ranging from jazz to power rock, Also an expert in sound engineering, Bowling is frequently consulted by recording professionals around the world.
With nearly one hundred published works, the band has also created works under various pseudonyms. It's likely the world will never know the influence they have had on other artists, and recording professionals.
More than just a band, The Moderns a way of being. Their ardent followers, ModFans invite their friends to GetModified. Dedicated to their fans who love them for what they are, The Moderns never sold out. Choosing their own twisted road less traveled. Somehow, against the odds, they remain.
