Úlfur Hansson, born on March 30, 1988 in Iceland, is an Icelandic songwriter, composer, and electronic musician. He released his album White Mountain using his own name in 2013, featuring tracks such as "Evoke Ewok" and "Black Shore". In 2013, he was named Young Composer of the Year at the International Rostrum of Composers. Hansson's music is characterized by dense string arrangements and modal counterpoint, often incorporating microtonalism. In 2017, he released Arborescence, an album that included the orchestral piece "Arborescence", originally written for the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra. Hansson has also composed works for classical ensembles such as the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Kronos Quartet.
