The Choir of St. John's College, Cambridge was founded in 1511 to sing daily liturgy in the College Chapel. The choir initially followed the English cathedral tradition of men and boys until 2022 when it admitted girls and women. It consisted of 15 choral scholars and 20 choristers and probationers, all members of St John's College.
The Choir has released over 90 recordings, with notable releases including the series of English church music on Naxos Records and recordings with Chandos Records. In 2016, the college launched its own recording label St John's Cambridge, an imprint on Signum Classics. The choir has also performed at special services such as Advent carol service and Evensong for Ash Wednesday, often broadcast by BBC Radio 3.
