Thomas Michael Fletcher was born on 17 July 1985 in Harrow, London, and grew up as a singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist. After training at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, he began writing commercially in his teens, contributing to Busted releases before co‑founding McFly with Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd in 2003. McFly released their debut album Room on the 3rd Floor in 2004, reaching number one on the UK Albums Chart, and followed with Wonderland (2005), Light Up the Sky (2007), The Greatest Hits (2010) and Above the Noise (2011). Tom Fletcher co‑wrote McFly’s chart‑topper "Five Colours in Her Hair" (2004) and "Obviously" (2005). He later released solo projects including The Christmasaurus (2016) and Space Band (2022). Tom Fletcher’s songwriting earned ten UK number‑one singles across various acts, and his work on Paddington: The Musical opened at the Savoy Theatre in 2025. It includes the single "One of Us", which reached number 80 on the UK’s Singles Sales chart.
