Tommy Alverson, born on June 10, 1952, in Itasca, Texas, was an American Texas country musician and singer-songwriter. He began playing guitar with James Hand during his junior college years and later produced Hand’s first album. Alverson’s recording career began with the compilation Texasongs in 1995, followed by notable releases such as Me On The Jukebox (1999), which included his most streamed hit “Una Mas Cerveza.” He released Heroes And Friends (2004), featuring guest artists including Gary P. Nunn, and Country To The Bone (2007), which won recognition from Fort Worth Weekly. Over his career, he recorded a total of eight albums and performed extensively across Texas. Alverson died on November 14, 2024, at the age of 72 from liver cancer.
