Instrumenti, a Latvian electronic indie-pop trio, was formed in Riga in 2007 by Jānis Šipkēvics and Reinis Sējāns. Their first single "Life Jacket Under Your Seat" gained attention from Latvian radio stations in summer 2008. The band officially formed in 2009 and released their debut EP Pandemiya. Instrumenti's producer Gatis Zaķis joined as a full member in 2014. The trio released their debut album Tru on August 31, 2011, recorded at the Greenhouse studios in Reykjavik. Subsequent albums include Procrastination (2013), Iekams (2014), Atkala (2017), and Cilvēks (2019). Instrumenti performed at major festivals across Europe, including SXSW and Positivus Festival. They received two Music Awards at the Annual Latvian Music Awards 2010 for Best Song "Apēst Tevi" and Best Debut for Pandemiya.
