Crowns, a folk punk band from Launceston, Cornwall, England, formed in 2010. The group consisted of lead singer and guitarist Bill Jefferson, bass player Jake Butler, mandolinist Jack Speckleton, and drummer Rob Ramplin, who replaced Nathan Haynes in 2013. Crowns gained early recognition after moving to London and were invited to play at the North London venue The Flowerpot in July 2010. Their performance included a collaboration with Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons on accordion, which was featured on The Flowerpot Sessions compilation album released by Communion/Island Records in June 2011. In March 2012, Crowns released their first EP, Full Swing, and followed it up with the single "Kissing Gates" from their own imprint Ship Wreckords. The band supported notable acts such as The Dropkick Murphys and The King Blues on various tours, and in 2012, they released their last album, Stitches in the Flag. In September 2014, Crowns played their final show.
