Natural Born Hippies, a Danish pop-rock group, was formed in 1997 when Dan Hougesen, Sune Thorbjoernsen, Bo Christensen, and Tom Lindby came together. The band quickly gained traction after signing with Iceberg Records in 1998, achieving significant radio presence in Denmark. Their debut album Popshit was released in December 1998, featuring several singles, including "Lola", a cover of The Kinks' song that reached Number 72 on the German Singlecharts. In 2001, Natural Born Hippies released their second studio album I Don’t Care, which included the single "Best Looking Guy in Town" featured in the videogame for the Pixar film Cars. Their third album In Your Dreams followed in November 2002, produced by Lutz Rahn and Mark Wills. This album contained some tracks previously released on I Don’t Care and included the single "Get It on", a cover of T. Rex's song that peaked at Number 92 on the German Singlecharts. Their fourth studio album, Wake Up Calls, was released in February 2005 but received limited attention due to a lack of single releases. In 2018, Natural Born Hippies contributed to the Nelson Mandela Library Project with the song "Mandela under the Sun", marking their return to the music scene after several years of inactivity.
