Sonic Dream Collective, a Swedish electronic music group originating from Uppsala, was formed in 1994 by singer‑songwriter Linn Engström, songwriter Jon Hällgren, and producer Anders Wågberg. The trio first released the EP Take Me Back in 1994, followed by the single "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" in 1995, which entered the Billboard Hot Dance Breakouts Club Play top five in the United States. The same year the group issued the single "Oh, Baby All", which peaked at number 2 on the Swedish charts and topped the national radio P3 Tracks chart. In 1995 the group released the EP I Wonder Why, and in 1996 the EP Happy Tune. The debut studio album Gravity was issued in 1997, and the second album Dustproof followed in 1998 under Remixed Records after a collaboration with American guitarist Raven Storm; the track "Colors of the Wind" featured Storm’s guitar work. Subsequent releases included Love (1997), Heaven Knows (1998), Pray (1998), and Taking Five (1999). The group operated its own label, Flying Duck Music, from 1994 to 1997 before signing with Remixed Records, and later shortened its name to Sonic Dream. Their tracks appeared on Dancemania soundtracks and Dance Dance Revolution 2nd ReMIX, cementing their presence in late 1990s dance music culture.
