Blunt Mechanic is an American indie-rock band from Seattle, founded in 2010 by Ben Barnett. Prior to forming Blunt Mechanic, Barnett had played with Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard in the band Kind of Like Spitting. The collective evolved into Blunt Mechanic and released their debut album, World Record, on April 30, 2010, under Grand Hotel van Cleef. The album's release was followed by the digital single "So Hard (Living Without You)" on July 9, 2010.
