Schola Cantorum of Oxford, a chamber choir affiliated with Oxford University in the United Kingdom, was founded by László Heltay in 1960 as Collegium Musicum Oxoniense. The group adopted the Schola Cantorum of Oxford name in 1964 and became one of the longest-established and most widely known chamber choirs in the country. Initially conducted by Heltay, Schola Cantorum has been led by a succession of notable conductors including Andrew Parrott, Nicholas Cleobury, Ivor Bolton, Jeremy Summerly, and James Burton. Throughout its career, Schola Cantorum has also collaborated with prominent musicians such as Sir Michael Tippett, Yehudi Menuhin, Leonard Bernstein, Gustav Leonhardt, Sir Colin Davis, and Sir Neville Marriner. In 2006, the choir released Children of Our Time. Schola Cantorum has performed extensively in the UK and internationally, with tours including Mexico, Argentina, Italy, Israel, Spain, China, and Poland.
