The Silly Pillows were an American indie pop band formed in 1986 by Jonathan Caws-Elwitt and his wife Hilary Caws-Elwitt. The duo began recording cassettes at home, gaining attention through the cassette underground network. In 1992, Hilary stopped singing, but their tapes had already attracted European interest. Jonathan then formed a studio lineup for their first vinyl release, the EP When She Gets Home (1993), and subsequently released several albums, including Strangest of the Strange (1994) and Pillow Image Ltd. (1996). They performed live in New York and other locations. Their music reached number 3 on the Japanese domestic singles chart with a split single featuring Citrus, "I Liked It – What Was It?" / "She's Just Being a Kid" (1996). In 2000, the lineup dissolved after recording the EP Tomorrow Is Yesterday (2000), which was released online.
