The Codetalkers, a jazz fusion and rock band from Savannah, Georgia, were formed in 1999 following a meeting between Bobby Lee Rodgers and Col. Bruce Hampton at a show in Atlanta. The band initially included Hampton but later evolved into a power trio led by Rodgers, with Mark Raudabaugh on drums and Andrew Altman on bass. Known for their blend of jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, and funk, the Codetalkers gained popularity in the jam band scene through extensive touring and appearances at major festivals like Bonnaroo and Vegoose. Their discography included albums such as Dee-lux Uh-dish-un (2004) and Now (2006). The band was also known for their "taper-friendly" policy, encouraging fans to record and share live performances. In early 2009, Rodgers officially disbanded the group due to financial issues related to management.
