Yves Rousseau, born on January 31, 1961 in Tournan-en-Brie, France, is a double bass player and composer. He studied with Jacques Cazauran at the CNR de Versailles from 1982 to 1987 and won the Premier prix d'orchestre at the Concours national de Jazz de la Défense in 1989. Rousseau's career advanced significantly after meeting Jean-François Jenny-Clark in 1984 within the Ensemble franco-allemand de jazz, which he co-directed with Albert Mangelsdorff from 1990 to 1993. Albums include Akasha (2015) and Murmures (2018). He collaborated extensively, including with Franck Tortiller at the Festival Jazz sous les Pommiers.
