Shao Dow (Rhymes with Wow Bro) is an independent Rapper, Manga Author and occasional Ninja.
After training in Shaolin Kung Fu while living in China, he used the tenacity gained from martial arts to forge his own path in music. Winner of the AIM Award for Hardest Working Artist, he also created The Way of Shao Manga through his company, DiY Gang Entertainment.
The London-born artist has appeared on ITV’s Ninja Warrior UK, spoken in Parliament on behalf of grassroots music venues, and was nominated for Best Live Performer at the 2022 AIM Awards.
Rapping in both English & Japanese, Shao blends anime, gaming, and martial arts with his music. He’s collaborated with Sean Schemmel (the voice of Goku – Dragon Ball Z) and featured on the first single from Tech N9ne’s Asin9ne album.
He co-creates soundtracks for the viral Shaggy Ball Z vs One Jump Man series and composed music for a God of War-inspired animation (10M+ views), later used by Sony and PlayStation for an official anniversary video. His music also featured in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing: Arsenal documentary.
Shao wrote ‘Thunder Roll’ for Fortnite’s Mega City update, featured in the trailer, lobby theme and emote, and recently teamed up with Borderlands 4 for an original song and animated video.
Known for his electrifying live shows mixing sharp lyricism, infectious beats and Kung Fu, Shao was chosen as the UK’s official representative for Expo 2025 Osaka and invited to perform for the Japanese ambassador in London.
