Busy being creative at the moment
Born from the electric haze of London in 2012, Bright Curse is a heavy psychedelic rock trio now
rooted in Bordeaux, France. From its earliest rituals, the band has conjured a sound both crushing
and ethereal—where earth-shaking riffs blend with spectral melodies and lyrics drenched in light
and shadow.
Led by Romain Daut (vocals/guitar), Bright Curse has carved a unique path through the
underground with a voice that shifts from incantation to desperate cry. Their debut full-length,
Before the Shore (HeviSike Records, 2016), was a tide-soaked journey into doomy atmospheres,
followed by Time of the Healer (Ripple Music, 2019), a darker, more introspective voyage laced
with ritualistic textures and mystical instrumentation.
In 2024, the circle expands: Rory O’Callaghan (Tie Break, ex-Libido Fuzz) joins on bass, and
Thibault “Bison” Elgazzar (Red Sun Atacama, ex-Libido Fuzz) takes over the drums. Together,
they form a rhythm section steeped in raw groove and primitive force—each beat and rumble
echoing like an offering to something deeper and unseen.
Now settled in Bordeaux’s feverish underground, Bright Curse is crafting a new cycle of sonic
invocations. Their next release, expected before the end of 2025, promises a return to their roots
while expanding their spectral palette into new and uncharted territories.
