The Barylli Quartet was an Austrian string quartet formed in Vienna during World War II, with Walter Barylli as the 1st violin. The ensemble initially consisted of leading members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and was re-established in 1945. They performed publicly from 1951 to 1960, during which they were closely associated with the Vienna Musikverein. The quartet's repertoire included works by Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Schumann, and Brahms. They released notable recordings such as a complete Beethoven cycle for Westminster Records and a near-complete Mozart cycle. Their performances at the Salzburg Festival in 1956 and 1958 were also recorded. They also collaborated with artists like Antoine de Bavier, Edith Farnadi, Jörg Demus, Paul Badura-Skoda, and Wilhelm Hübner.
