DeYarmond Edison was a band from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, formed in 2002 by Justin Vernon, Brad Cook, Phil Cook, Joe Westerlund, and Christopher Porterfield. They blended folk, Americana, and modern atmospheric elements. The group released their self-titled debut album DeYarmond Edison in 2004 and Silent Signs in 2005. After moving to Raleigh, North Carolina, they disbanded in September 2006 due to musical differences and Vernon's illness. Following the breakup, Justin Vernon produced For Emma, Forever Ago as Bon Iver, while other members formed Megafaun and Field Report. The band reunited briefly in 2011 and contributed "Black Muddy River" to Day of the Dead in 2016. In August 2023, they released the box set Epoch.
