Adam Shearer is an American singer and songwriter born as John Adam Weinland Shearer in Kalispell. Shearer achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by folk rock and indie rock. He achieved professional recognition for a career that began after he studied psychology at Lewis and Clark College, graduating in 2001. He began writing and performing under the name John Weinland in 2003, recording songs in a home studio and selling them on vinyl at local performances. In 2005 the project became a trio with the addition of the musicians Aaron Pomerantz and Rory Brown. His recording career began with the debut studio recording Demersville (2006). Shearer achieved professional recognition for the studio recording La Lamentor (2008), released after he changed the band's name to Weinland. The recording achieved professional recognition for a collaborative production involving the producer Adam Selzer and the producer Dylan Maglerek. His recording career included the studio recording Breaks in the Sun (2009). Shearer achieved professional recognition for the song “I Feel Wasted” (2009) and the song “People Like You” (2009) being featured in the television program The World of Jenks. He achieved professional recognition for the song “Sunken Eyes” (2009) being featured in the movie Cherry (2010). Shearer achieved professional recognition for performing as a member of the ensemble Alialujah Choir.
