Negu Gorriak, a Spanish alternative band from the Basque Country, was formed in 1990 by Fermin Muguruza, IƱigo Muguruza, both former members of Kortatu, and Kaki Arkarazo. Their debut album, Negu Gorriak, was released that same year. The band's lineup solidified with the addition of Mikel "BAP!!" on drums and Mikel "Anestesia" on bass. Negu Gorriak founded Esan Ozenki Records, releasing their second album Gure Jarrera in 1991. Their third album, Borreroak Baditu Milaka Aurpegi, released in 1993, is considered their masterpiece. Notable songs include "Ustelkeria", which led to a legal battle with a Guardia Civil official. Although the band disbanded in 1996, the charges against them were only dropped in 2001. To celebrate the acquittal, the group performed three concerts for over 30,000 people.
