Libuše Domanínská, born on July 4, 1924, in Brno, Czechoslovakia, was a notable Czechoslovak opera singer. She began her professional career at the National Theatre Brno in 1945, debuting as Blaženka in Das Geheimnis. Domanínská joined the National Theatre Prague in 1955, performing iconic roles like Káťa Kabanová and Fiordiligi until 1990. Her international career included performances at the Edinburgh Festival and guest appearances in Berlin, Helsinki, and Buenos Aires. She was also known for her interpretations of vocal symphonic compositions, including Janáček’s Glagolitic Mass. Domanínská received the title "Verdiente Nationalkünstlerin der Tschechoslowakei" in 1974 and the Czech Thalia Prize in 1996. She passed away on February 2, 2021.
