Isocracy is an American punk rock band from Berkeley, California, formed in 1986. The group consisted of John Kiffmeyer on drums, Lenny Johnson on guitar, Martin Brohm on bass, and Jason Beebout on vocals. Isocracy gained attention as one of the key bands in the MRR/Gilman Street project. Their debut release was the Bedtime for Isocracy EP, a 10-song 7" released in 1988 through Lookout! Records. The band's energetic live performances, which often included unconventional elements like playing in laundromats and covering audiences with garbage, helped them stand out in the mid-1980s hardcore punk scene. Isocracy was featured on several compilations, including The Thing That Ate Floyd by Lookout! Records and Punk Rock 7"s Volume 1. Their impact is noted in the Green Day-funded documentary Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk, released in 2017.
