James Levy is an American singer-songwriter and producer based in New York. He started his career as the lead singer of LEVY, releasing two albums on One Little Indian: Rotten Love (2003) and Glorious (2011). In 2008, he released his solo album Yvel. Levy was the lead singer for Reputante, which released their debut EP Oceanside (2013) on Cult Records. He was also a member of Lolawolf alongside Zoƫ Kravitz and others. In 2012, under the name James Levy and The Blood Red Rose, he released Pray to Be Free, which received critical acclaim. Notable singles include "Sneak into My Room" and "Hung To Dry". He has also worked as a songwriter and producer for other artists.
