Menew are a Canadian alternative rock band known for their dynamic sound and high-energy performances. Hailing from Cambridge, Ontario, the band consists of three brothers: Shade Klaas (lead vocals and guitar), Key Klaas (keyboards and synthesizers), and Nathan Samuel Phillip Klaas (drums and percussion). Formed in Toronto in 2007, Menew blend classic rock influences with modern alt-rock sensibilities, creating a unique sonic identity that draws comparisons to bands like Muse and Radiohead. Their music is characterized by powerful guitar riffs, atmospheric synthesizers, and emotive lyrics, often exploring themes of self-discovery, rebellion, and societal introspection. Menew first gained national attention with their independent demo releases, with the Of the Future EP arriving in 2008, followed by the critically acclaimed album Wide Awake Hello in 2012, which featured the hit single "This Isn't Real." The album was praised for its anthemic sound and cinematic production, cementing their place in the alt-rock scene. Menew's commitment to their craft has earned them a loyal fanbase and opportunities to perform on major platforms, including late-night TV shows such as The Late Show with David Letterman. The band have toured extensively across North America and Europe, known for their electrifying live shows that captivate audiences with their intensity and musical precision. Their discography also includes the albums Mother Nature (2014) and Wide Awake Hello (2012) as well as several singles, including 2016's "Baby, You're Like a Drug" and 2020 offering "The Walls." In 2024, they teamed up with Canadian producer Julian Dzeko, known mononymously as Dzeko, for the EDM single "Never Us," which broke into the US Top 40 Radio Dance & Mix Show Songs chart.
