Necrowretch, a French death metal band from Valence, Rhône-Alpes, was formed in 2008 by guitarist Vlad. The group initially recorded demos through Skeleton Plague Records and Aural Offerings Records before releasing two EPs on Detest Records. Their first demo, Rising from Purulence, was released after just three rehearsals in 2009. In 2012, Necrowretch signed with Century Media Records and released their debut studio album, Putrid Death Sorcery, in 2013. The band's lineup underwent several changes, including the departure of drummer Blastphemator in 2011 and bassist Amphycion in 2015. The band has performed at major festivals such as Hellfest in 2015. Notable releases include With Serpents Scourge (2015), Satanic Slavery (2017), The Ones from Hell (2020), and the Swords of Dajjal (2024).
