Artist, producer, pianist and songwriter Michael Broening has written and produced over 70 contemporary jazz hits, including 47 top 10 and 27 #1 singles, one of which was the 2007 Grammy winning song Mornin by George Benson and Al Jarreau.
Since 2001, Mike has written and produced albums for a whos who of contemporary jazz artists, including Benson, Marion Meadows, Tim Bowman, Steve Oliver, Althea Rene, Cindy Bradley, Brian Simpson, Lin Rountree, Nick Colionne, Randy Scott, Kim Scott, and Kayla Waters. Many featured multiple singles written by Mike that charted in the top 5. On Bensons CD Givin it Up, Michael was credited playing B3 organ on the song Bring it on Home to Me, which featured Paul McCartney. The CD hit #1 on the Billboard Jazz Sales chart and took home 3 Grammys in 2007.
As songwriter and producer, three times Michael had the #1 and #2 songs on Billboard at the same time. In Dec 2019 with Kayla Waters Full Bloom and Cindy Bradleys Wind Chill Factor, in Oct 2020 with Randy Scotts Joyride and Lin Rountrees Fluid, and in Sept 2024 with Greg Goodloes Groovin On and Randy Scotts Embrace.
As an artist, Michaels last 5 singles, The Way She Moves, Let it Breathe, Talk to Me, Happy Hour, and Together Again all hit #1 on Billboard. From 2023-25 Michael wrote and produced 15 #1s. His latest single, Make it Last, released January 16, 2026 on his label, B-Hive Records.
