Dina Anatolyevna Ugorskaja, born on August 26, 1973, in Leningrad, was a German pianist of Russian origin. She began her musical journey under the tutelage of her father, Anatol Ugorski, and made her public debut at age seven at the Philharmonie de Leningrad. By fourteen, she performed Beethoven's Fourth Piano Concerto and composed her first string quartet. In 1990, due to antisemitic threats during the perestroika period, the family relocated to Berlin. Ugorskaja's career included performances across Europe, notable venues like the Gewandhaus in Leipzig, and collaborations with conductors such as Vladimir Jurowski and Peter Gülke. Her discography includes recordings of The Well-Tempered Clavier, Beethoven's piano sonatas, and Handel's keyboard suites. She passed away on September 17, 2019, in Munich, following a battle with cancer.
