Llŷr Williams, born in 1976 in Pentre Bychan, Wrexham, Wales, is a concert pianist. He began piano lessons at seven and passed all eight grades with Distinction by 11. Williams studied music at The Queen's College, Oxford, and the Royal Academy of Music. His career breakthrough came in 2002 when he was selected for representation by the Young Concert Artists Trust and won the Critics' Prize at the Edinburgh International Festival. He released his first commercial recording, Chopin's Préludes, in 2006. Other notable albums include Wagner Without Words (2014) and Contrasts (2024). Williams has notably performed at the Edinburgh International Festival multiple times since 2002, made his Proms début in 2005, and served as an official accompanist for the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition.
