Tamara Semyonovna Tsereteli, born on August 14, 1900 in Sveri, Kutais Governorate, Georgia, was a Georgian Russian singer known for her contributions to Gypsy music and World music. Her career began with the recording of "Dorogoi dlinnoyu" by Boris Fomin in 1925. Throughout the 1920s, Tsereteli's repertoire included songs written by her mentor Boris Prozorovsky, a prominent romance author who was later arrested and executed during the Great Purge. Her extensive career saw over 5,500 concerts performed until her retirement in 1960. Notable albums include Романсы И Песни Минувших Лет (1967), Старинные Романсы (1975), and Золотые Россыпи Романса (2000). Tsereteli passed away on April 3, 1968 in Moscow.
