Gal Level is an R&B female duo from Windhoek, Namibia, consisting of Daphne Willibard and Frieda Haindaka. They started their career in the late 1990s as members of the hip-hop collective Dungeon Family before transitioning to a duo project. After Dungeon Family broke up, they reconnected in 2003 with manager Sula, who signed them to his label, Butterfly Entertainment. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Shake It" in 2004, which garnered significant attention and comparisons to Destiny's Child. The duo followed up with another successful single, "Go Back to Her", earning a Channel O nomination and winning multiple awards at the Sanlam-NBC Music Awards in 2005. Their debut album Act Like You Know was released in 2007. Throughout their career, Gal Level received numerous accolades, including Best Newcomer and Best R&B awards in 2005.
