The Cannanes, an Australian indie pop band, were formed in 1984, led by Stephen O'Neil (vocals, guitar) and Frances Gibson (bass). They issued their debut album The African Man's Tomato in 1987, followed by A Love Affair With Nature (1989), and toured the United States in 1991 for Caveat Emptor (1993). Later albums include Living the Dream (2000), Trouble Seemed So Far Away (2002), and Howling at All Hours (2013). Collaborations with Explosion Robinson, Steward, and others expanded their discography.
