The Katona Twins, identical brothers Péter and Zoltán Katona, were born in Budapest, Hungary in 1968. They began studying guitar at age ten, initially at the Béla Bartók Conservatory of Music in Budapest. Their breakthrough came with a debut at Carnegie Hall in 1998. The twins have performed at notable venues worldwide, including the Royal Festival Hall and Wigmore Hall in London. Their repertoire includes classical music, tango, and Spanish guitar, featuring adaptations of works by composers like Isaac Albéniz and Joaquín Rodrigo. They have released albums such as Scarlatti & Handel (1998) and Le Grand Tango by Ástor Piazzolla (2004). The Katona Twins have received several awards, including the Borletti-Buitoni prize in 2004.
