Diane Renay, born Renee Diane Kushner on July 13, 1945, in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American singer. She began singing at a young age and received voice lessons from Artie Singer, who also managed Danny and the Juniors. Her first single "Little White Lies" was released in 1962 under Atco Records but did not chart nationally. Bob Crewe then signed her to a new recording contract with 20th Century label, where she achieved her biggest hit "Navy Blue" in late 1963. The song reached number 6 on the Hot 100 and topped the Adult Contemporary singles chart in March 1964. Her debut album Navy Blue followed shortly after. Subsequent notable releases included "Kiss Me Sailor", which peaked at number 29 on the national Billboard chart, and several local hits such as "Growin' Up Too Fast" and "Watch Out Sally". Renay moved to the Fontana label in 1969 but did not achieve significant chart success with her covers of "Yesterday" and "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me". She remained active as a performer and released Diane Renay Sings Some Things Old & Some Things New in 2001.
