The Wooden Sky, a Canadian indie folk band based in Toronto, Ontario, was formed by lead singer Gavin Gardiner. The group originated after Gardiner wrote songs for a school project while attending Ryerson University. Initially known as Friday Morning's Regret, the band released their debut album, When Lost at Sea, in 2007 and changed their name to The Wooden Sky. Their second album, If I Don't Come Home You'll Know I'm Gone, was recorded in Montreal with producer Howard Bilerman and released in 2009. In 2012, they released their third LP, Every Child a Daughter, Every Moon a Sun, which reached number 66 on the Canadian charts. The band left their former record label to start their own Chelsea Records in 2014 and released their album, Swimming in Strange Waters, in 2017.
