Atlántica was a Cantabrian group of performers of traditional Cantabrian and Celtic music. It was formed in 1988 by Marcos Bárcena and Kate Gass. As a duo, they performed occasional small-scale concerts in its early years. In 1993, the lineup expanded with Miguel Cobo, followed by Estela Baños, and in 1997 Ramón Bueno joined, helping consolidate the group’s core formation. Their discography includes Transitus (1999), La Luz Del Invierno (2000), Lugas (2001), and Desde Esta Orilla (2004), among others. After internal changes, Marcos Bárcena left in 2005, and Pilar Revuelta and Santiago Sánchez joined later in the final phase. Atlántica announced its disbandment in January 2006 after nearly eighteen years, with their final performance held at the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria.
