From the Celtic melodies she once played on the violin, she kept a deep love for sharing sound. Struck like lightning by Bob Dylan, then Violeta Parra, she picked up the folk guitar to capture the spirit of a vast, multilingual world and to practice that ancient art of making an emotion, a destiny, come alive within the four minutes of a song.
Lehna unfolds her voice, brushing shoulders with the great figures of song (Barbara, Mercedes Sosa, Joni Mitchell), and accompanies herself—here with a guitar, there with a charango—guiding us without ever losing us. Whether it's in the form of an Andean dance, a French ditty, or a folk pamphlet, Lehna shows with every song that she is inhabited by music and words, and by the joy of sharing them.
