Velton Ray Bunch (born January 22, 1948) was an American film and television composer and pianist from Goldsboro, North Carolina. Bunch began his career working under composer Mike Post, contributing to series including Magnum, P.I. and The Rockford Files. He served as the primary composer for the NBC series Quantum Leap between 1989 and 1993. Bunch composed the theme music for The Pretender, receiving an Emmy nomination in 2000. He provided the scores for the television movies Faith of My Fathers (2005) and the biopic Flight 93 (2006). In 2004, Bunch won an Emmy Award for his score to the Star Trek: Enterprise episode “Similitude”. His credits included the television movies Papa’s Angels (2001) and Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors (2015). He also contributed uncredited music to the film Lost in Space.
