Dimitra Papadea, known professionally as Demy, is a Greek singer born on August 21, 1991, in Athens, Greece. She began taking piano lessons at age five and later took vocal lessons. Her musical influences include jazz, soul, rock and roll, and R&B. Demy's professional debut came with her appearance on Midenistis' song "Mia Zografia", which became a hit in Greece and Cyprus. In 2012, Papadea released the single "Poses Hiliades Kalokeria", which reached Number 1 on the iTunes Greece and Billboard Greece Digital Songs charts. Her debut album #1 was released in 2012 and became platinum. Demy achieved eight Number 1 songs on the Greek charts. She was nominated for 30 MAD Video Music Awards, winning 11, including Best New Artist and Best Female Artist. In 2017, she represented Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 19th in the Grand Final. Other notable releases include the albums Rodino Oneiro (2014) and Kontra (2017), the EP Retrospective (2019), and the singles "I Zoi (To Pio Omorfo Tragoudi)" (2012) and "Oso O Kosmos Tha Ehi Esena" (2014).
