James E. "Jim" Nunally, an American musician from the San Francisco Bay Area, began his musical journey with roots in traditional music passed down through generations. His grandfather taught his father how to play guitar, who then instructed Jim. Nunally's career took off when he recorded the guitar tracks in Snoopy's Reunion for the Peanuts animated television special and contributed to The Beverly Hillbillies movie theme song. He gained significant recognition with his performance on True Life Blues: The Songs of Bill Monroe, which earned him two Grammy award certifications and two IBMA awards in 1996. Nunally has collaborated extensively, including work with John Reischman and the Jaybirds, The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, and Due West. His albums include collaborations such as House & Garden (2013) with Nell Robinson. Nunally is also a two-time Western Open Flatpicking and Master Picking Champion.
