Warning was formed in 1994 by vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Patrick Walker, in Harlow, Essex. The band released its debut studio album, The Strength to Dream (1999) on The Miskatonic Foundation, establishing a cult following. After touring Europe with Jack Frost in 2001 and released the studio album Watching from a Distance in 2006, Warning disbanded in 2009. The group reunited in 2017 to perform Watching from a Distance at Roadburn, released in 2021, and again in 2025 when they signed with Relapse Records. In 2026, they released Rituals of Shame, their first studio album in two decades. The album was accompanied by a documentary by Geert Braekers, and Watching from a Distance was ranked number one by Kerrang! in 2019.
