Zohar Argov, born Zohar Orkabi on July 16, 1955, in Rishon LeZion, Israel, was a singer known for his distinctive voice in the Mizrahi music scene. He began his professional career at age 22 with a single featuring two songs written and composed by Moshe Nagar. In 1980, he released his debut album Elinor, which included notable tracks such as "Sod HaMazalot" ("The Zodiac Secret") and "Mah Lakh, Yaldah?" ("What's with You, Girl?"). Argov gained significant recognition in 1982 when his song "HaPerah BeGani" ("The Flower in My Garden") won the Mizrahi Music Festival. This victory marked a breakthrough for both Zohar Argov and Mizrahi music. His career was marred by drug addiction and legal issues, which ultimately led to his untimely death on November 6, 1987.
