Das Blaue Einhorn, a German folk band from Dresden, was formed in 1991. The group, consisting of Paul Hoorn, Andreas Zöllner, Christoph Bellmann, and Dirk Hessel, held their first concert against the Gulf War. In 1993, Dietrich Zöllner joined the band. Their repertoire included chansons, klezmer, Roma songs, tango, rembetiko, and fado. Das Blaue Einhorn released their debut album Maljarkiza - Klänge Aus Europa in 1996. Other notable albums include Vida Nocturna - Musik Aus Den Strassen in 1997 and Wo Find Ich Meine Seele? - Lieder Von Krieg Und Frieden, released in 2009. The band performed extensively across Germany, often in churches. In 1999, they were awarded the German Folk Promotion Prize. Their final concert took place on November 23, 2013, at the Alte Schlachthof in Dresden and was partially broadcast by coloRadio.
