Her breakthrough came in 2012 when she placed second in the second season of The Voice of Germany, advancing to the finale after a successful performance of her self‑written single "Heimweh", which peaked at number 33 on the German charts and secured her a spot in the final. In 2013, Isabell Schmidt released her debut album Alles hat seine Zeit, which entered the German charts at number 47, and the album included the track "Ok". Subsequent releases expanded her catalogue with singles such as "Nimmst du mich mit" (2016), "Out of Mind" in collaboration with the Rain Down Project (2017), and "Seitdem du weg bist" (2020).
