Dany Doriz, born Daniel Dorisse, is a French jazz vibraphonist and bandleader who was born in 1941 in Boissy-Saint-Léger. He studied classical piano and saxophone before focusing on the vibraphone at age 16 after being influenced by the music of Lionel Hampton. In 1970, he became the owner and musical director of the Paris jazz club Caveau de la Huchette, where he performed with artists including Wild Bill Davis, Ray Bryant, and Eddie Jones. Doriz collaborated extensively with Hampton, joining his band for a European tour in 1975 and recording a collaborative album. His discography includes the albums Son vibraphone et sa grande formation (1969), Jazz pour la danse (1969), and Dany Doris Big Band feat. Manu Dibango and Ronald Baker (2014). He also performed with the Flashback Quartet at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 1981.
