Barış Akarsu, born on June 29, 1979, in Bartın, Turkey, was a Turkish rock musician and actor. Inspired by artists like Ruhi Su, Cem Karaca, Barış Manço, Led Zeppelin, and U2, Akarsu began performing at beach resorts in Antalya before moving to Karadeniz Ereğli. Akarsu's breakthrough came when he won the television series Akademi Türkiye (Academy Turkey) in July 2004. This victory led to his first album release, Islak Islak (2005), which included notable songs like "Islak Islak" and "Kimdir O". His second album, Düşmeden Bulutlarda Koşmam Gerek, was released in 2006. Tragically, on June 29, 2007, Akarsu was involved in a fatal car crash while returning from a charity concert. He passed away on July 4, 2007, at the age of 28. His posthumous album, Ayrılık Zamansız Gelir, was released in 2007.
