Tadeusz Nalepa, born on August 26, 1943, in Zgłobień, Poland, was a Polish musician, singer-songwriter and composer. He graduated from the Music Academy in Rzeszów and gained early recognition at the Festival of Young Talents in Szczecin in 1963 with Mira Kubasinska. Nalepa formed the band Blackout in 1965, which released Blackout (1967) before disbanding in 1967. He then founded Breakout in 1968, producing ten albums until the group disbanded in 1981. His solo career began in 1982 with a debut concert at Gwardia Hall in Warsaw. He notably worked with Dżem on Numero Uno (1988). Nalepa received significant accolades, including being named the Best Musician by Jazz Forum magazine in 1986 and receiving the Knight's Cross of the Polonia Restituta in 2003. Tadeusz Nalepa passed away on March 4, 2007.
