Mira Awad is an Arab-Israeli singer and actress born on June 11, 1975, in Rameh. She studied at the University of Haifa and the Rimmon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. Awad performed in the television series Arab Labor and the film The Bubble. In 2005, she participated in the Israeli national final for the Eurovision Song Contest with the recording “Zman”. Awad represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 alongside Achinoam Nini with the track “There Must Be Another Way”. This performance reached number 16 in the final and was the first Israeli entry to include Arabic lyrics. Her debut studio recording, Bahlawan, appeared in 2009. That year, she received the Chaviva Reik Peace Prize. She collaborated with Nini on the recording “We Can Work It Out”. Awad provided vocals for the title tracks of the films Forgiveness and Lemon Tree. In 2025, she performed the song “Imagine” at the Sanremo Festival.
