Karen Lucille Hale, born Lucy Hale on 14 June 1989 in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American singer and actress. Hale began performing at age 13, appearing on American Juniors, and later pursued vocal training while attending home school. In 2012 she signed with Hollywood Records and began working on her debut country-influenced album, released on 3 June 2014 as Road Between. The lead single, “You Sound Good To Me”, entered the Billboard country charts, and the album peaked at number 4 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Subsequent singles such as “Lie a Little Better” extended her chart presence following the album’s release, and she later issued a deluxe edition of Road Betweenfeaturing acoustic tracks and bonus songs. Hale’s music career includes a collaboration with country artist Joe Nichols on “Red Dress”, alongside her continued work in television and film, though her recorded music output remained concentrated around her 2014 country releases.
