Pacific Mambo Orchestra, a Latin dance music orchestra based in the San Francisco Bay Area, was founded in 2010 by Mexican pianist Christian Tumalan and German trumpeter Steffen Kuehn. The 19-piece Latin Big Band plays various genres including salsa, Latin jazz, cha-cha-cha, and bachata. In 2012, they released their debut self-titled album Pacific Mambo Orchestra, which was funded through Kickstarter. This album earned them a Grammy Award nomination for Best Tropical Latin Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in 2014, which they won. Notable tracks from this album include "El Cantante" and "Overjoyed". The orchestra subsequently released albums such as Live From Stern Grove in 2017 and The III Side in 2020.
