Nothink, a Spanish indie rock band from Madrid, was formed in 1998 by bassist Alex Ferrero and guitarist/vocalist Juan Blas. The group initially rehearsed in a garage, covering Nirvana songs before transitioning to original material. Their breakthrough came in 2004 when they won the Mondosonoro demo contest and MadTaste festival, leading to performances with notable acts like Pixies and Korn. Nothink's debut album, Bipolar Age, was self-financed and released in June 2005 through Aloud Music. The band gained critical acclaim and toured extensively. Their second album, Spotlights (November 2007), featured collaborations with indie musicians and orchestral arrangements by the Filarmónica de Kiev. Nothink's third album, Hidden State, was recorded in Seattle in 2010 and produced by Matt Bayles. The band toured extensively through 2011. In June 2012, Juan Blas announced his departure from the group, leading to Nothink's disbandment.
